‘Breaking Dawn’ Release Date

This was revealed a couple of days ago, but I thought I would mention it just in case you haven’t heard! Make sure you mark your calendars for November 18, 2011.

The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn will be released on Nov. 18, 2011, Summit Entertainment has announced. Directed by Oscar winner Bill Condon (Gods and Monsters, Kinsey, Dreamgirls), Breaking Dawn will bring back Robert Pattinson as Edward Cullen, Kristen Stewart as Bella Swan, and Taylor Lautner as Jacob Black.

Melissa Rosenberg is currently working on the adaptation of the fourth and last installment of Stephenie Meyer’s bestselling book series.

What remains unclear at this point is if Summit will be announcing a second date for Breaking Dawn — in case the long novel is turned into two films. Or whether Breaking Dawn will be shot in 3D or plain old (and good) 2D. Or in black and white. (Now that would be totally cool.)

Considering everything that takes place in Breaking Dawn, Summit, Condon, Rosenberg, and co-producer Meyer will probably have some trouble keeping the film(s) within PG-13-rating parameters.

“New Moon” DVD & Blu-Ray Cover + “Twilight” Producer Talks Breaking Dawn Filming

First, amazon has put up the U.S. covers for the New Moon DVD (standard and blu-ray) up. We will let you know once they’re available for pre-sale! You can check out the covers until then over here.

Also, in an interview with LA Times Blog, the Twilight producer talks about Breaking Dawn which apparently begins filming this fall and says that Robert has indeed signed up for the movie.

Wyck Godfrey, the producer of all the films in the “Twilight” saga, admits that the creative team still doesn’t know how they’ll handle the character in the “Breaking Dawn” movie, but said that the plan is absolutely for the production to go forward — as either one or two installments — with an eye toward beginning to shoot in Vancouver this fall. All three stars are signed for “Breaking Dawn,” he said, meaning that Stewart and Pattinson will be dealing with the joys and woes of interspecies parenting and newly minted heartthrob Taylor Lautner will return as often-shirtless shape-shifter Jacob Black.

Robert Pattinson Confirms Fall 2010 Start for ‘Breaking Dawn’?

In an interview with Collider, Robert talks a little about the filming plans of Breaking Dawn. Nothing is however official yet.

While I am not a “Twilight” expert, I do pay attention to the world of vampires as many of you out there care a great deal about them. So at today’s press junket for “The Twilight Saga: New Moon”, one of the big things I tried to find out was what is the status of the movie version of the last “Twilight” book, “Breaking Dawn”. When I asked Kristen Stewart if she knew what was up with “Breaking Dawn” and if the rumors about it being two movies were true, the moderator quickly said next question and wouldn’t let her answer.

But when I had the opportunity to ask Robert Pattinson the last question at today’s press junket, I made the most of it. I asked him if he has been told of a tentative time he might film “Breaking Dawn”? He replied:

“I think the tentative time for “Breaking Dawn” is fall next year. They may well change that.”
