All I can say is congrats to Robert and the rest of the “Twilight Saga” cast and crew! These digits are absolutely amazing. Read more about it below!
Marking the third best weekend opening of all time, Summit Entertainment’s female-driven sequel “New Moon” grossed an estimated $140.7 million from 4,024 theaters at the domestic B.O.
Moreover, “New Moon” led what’s expected to be the second-best weekend ever at the domestic B.O. in terms of overall ticket sales, trailing only the weekend that Warner Bros.’ “The Dark Knight” opened, and that was in summer.
Assisting this weekend’s boom was Warner Bros. and Alcon Entertainment’s sports drama “The Blind Side,” which far overperformed in opening to an estimated $34.5 million from 3,110 locations.
Here’s an interview Robert did for ABC along with his co-stars in which he talks about New Moon and living in the spotlight.
AP: What’s one thing you miss from your pre-”Twilight” life?
Pattinson: I loved driving around L.A. I know not a lot of people say that, but if you don’t have to get anywhere, L.A. is the best place to drive ’round in. I used to have this little car, a convertible … and I really do miss doing that, as the sun is going down, driving over the mountains. It’s a great thing and I kind of do miss that a little bit. It’s not really the same thing when you’ve got 10 cars following you.
The video of Robert’s appearance on Unscripted, a very nice interview with his fellow co-star and New Moon director that gave me a few good laughs, can be found at this link. Screen captures will be added to the gallery shortly.

The New Zealand Herald interviewed Robert about projects outside The Twilight Saga movies, New Moon and much more.
“Yeah, I’ve done a couple of other films – working straight through, without a day off, for a year – so it was great to get back to this [New Moon]. It’s actually been kind of fun,” he smiles. “That was a surprise, because the first film was really difficult. I actually found it hard trying to portray the profundity of him finding love and having those kinds of intense feelings, as he goes from feeling absolutely nothing – from being fossilised – to suddenly feeling everything, because he meets this girl, Bella. It was really hard to show that. I was always stressing myself out [about it].
“But with this one [New Moon] I felt really relaxed and found it easy to get back into it,” Pattinson grins. “I think it’s because I always connected more to the second book, than the first. I just understood the story and his motivations a lot more, because there are all these emotions in it that I can relate to in my own life, like when he feels himself making the wrong decision about leaving Bella behind, but he does it anyway.
“Twilight” fans asked, and we got the answer.
Gossip Cop has learned that Robert Pattinson will be a guest on “Ellen” in a new episode airing November 20, the day “New Moon” hits theaters. A highly, highly placed source confirmed Pattinson’s appearance to Gossip Cop. The interview, however, will be taped on November 17.
You can’t read a book, watch a movie, hunt for a Halloween costume or tune into TV these days without running into vampires, and our cover story this weekend takes a look at why bloodsuckers — with franchises such as Twilight, True Blood and The Vampire Diaries — are so hot in pop culture right now. In addition to interviewing True Blood book author Charlaine Harris and Dacre Stoker, Dracula author Bram Stoker’s great-grandnephew, our Brian Truitt had the chance to talk with cover boy Robert Pattinson, the popular star of Twilight and the upcoming sequel New Moon (in theaters Nov. 20). Pattinson, who plays the vampire Edward Cullen, was up in Vancouver filming Eclipse, the third adaptation from Stephenie Meyer’s book series coming out next year. “Almost every scene is a fight scene at the moment — for the last couple of weeks anyway,” he reports. “We’ve been doing splits for the past week and a half.” Read below for some of Pattinson’s thoughts on Eclipse and making the Twilight movies, and check out this new clip from New Moon featuring his co-stars, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner.
